Is Costco open on New Year’s Day 2025? Store hours for Jan 1. & more

Costco is a highly frequented store that shoppers stop at to pick up food and other household items in bulk.

Fans of the store aren’t just there for the popular $1.50 hotdogs and $5 rotisserie chicken. They can take advantage of all the storewide deals, services and items exclusive to Costco members (sign up now and get a free $45 gift card).

For those who want to visit their local store, there might be some lingering holiday sales they can catch before they’re gone.

Here’s everything Costco members should know about the store to plan out their New Year’s Day 2025 shopping run.

Is Costco open on New Year’s Day 2025?

Costco fans will have to wait until Jan. 2 to visit the warehouse.

Costco warehouses will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 1 to observe the federal holiday, similar to last year. Also, it gives staff a chance to relax and celebrate with friends and family.

However, shoppers can visit their nearest Costco the following day on Thursday, Jan. 2 during regular store hours from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

This is unlike its competitor, Walmart, which will be open during regular store hours on New Year’s Day.
