The stomach bug is officially in town and this year, it’s an especially bad one.
Norovirus outbreaks are at the highest level they’ve been in over a decade, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Nationwide, there were 91 outbreaks across the 14 states that report data to the CDC (New Jersey is not one of them) the week of Dec. 5, a 32% increase from the week before. By comparison, numbers from the past three years show a maximum of 65 outbreaks reported during the first week of December.
