EAST RUTHERFORD – Sometimes the “who” doesn’t matter nearly as much as the “when.”
As much as we want to judge the strength of schedule through the lens of this season, the opponents do change from year to year. That won’t stop any of us from making projections based on what we think we know.
And man, the Giants certainly have a doozy of a slate for the 2025 season.
Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert coming to MetLife Stadium. Seven playoff teams from this season on the schedule and an eighth in the Denver Broncos, provided they qualify on Sunday, on the docket.
Fourteen of the 17 games were set in stone based on the NFL’s schedule formula, while three others were determined by respective placement in previously selected divisions.
In addition to the home-and-home series the Giants play against the Cowboys, Eagles and Commanders within the division, they are also playing all four teams from the NFC North and the AFC West, plus the last place team from the NFC South and the NFC West.
And with the 17-game schedule, there is one extra game on the road against an AFC team, also matched up by divisional finish and next year, that team will be from the AFC East.
