Before the season began, one would’ve expected the Jets-Dolphins Week 18 season finale at MetLife Stadium would be two organizations fighting for either a division title or have playoff seeding on the line.
Instead, it’s been a underwhelming performances from both AFC East franchises this year. The Jets were eliminated from playoff contention weeks ago and showed very little fight in a 40-14 blowout loss against the Bills in Week 17, where QB Aaron Rodgers reportedly benched himself in the fourth quarter in place of backup QB Tyrod Taylor.
On the opposing sideline, the Dolphins have battled back all the way to .500 (8-8) after losing six of their first eight games before turning things around drastically and still have an outside shot of making the playoffs.
In order to do that, Miami needs to beat the Jets in this game and have the Chiefs — who are 11-point underdogs on the road against the Broncos — pull off a massive upset with QB Patrick Mahomes and others resting with the No. 1 seed locked up for Kansas City.
With the end of a dismal season near, can QB Aaron Rodgers — who’s one touchdown pass away from No. 500 — lead Gang Green to an upset victory and keep the Dolphins out of the postseason?

NY Jets vs Dolphins predictions, picks, odds
Dolphins 21, Jets 14: The big news here is that the Dolphins’ starting QB will be Tyler Huntley with Tua Tagovailoa missing a second consecutive game with a hip injury. Despite it being Huntley over Tagovailoa in a must-win game, Miami can still do enough here to take care of business and root for the Broncos to beat the Chiefs, who are likely to rest a majority of their starters with the No. 1 seed locked up in the AFC.
In the end, Rodgers throws his 500th touchdown to his long time running mate WR Davante Adams in what will be his ultimately be his final TD in a Jets’ uniform as Gang Green loses 12 of its final 14 games after a 2-2 start.
Odds: Dolphins by 1 point
Over/Under: 39 points
Moneyline: Dolphins (-120), Jets (+100)
