Should Giants fans trust co-owners John Mara and Steve Tisch?
Well, they don’t have any choice, because Mara and Tisch aren’t going to sell the team.

But the trust question could come into play after this season, if Mara and Tisch fire coach Brian Daboll or general manager Joe Schoen or both.
Will Mara and Tisch hire the right new coach and/or new GM?
With that in mind, check out this tweet from former New York Post columnist Ian O’Connor:
The Giants loved Adam Peters as a GM candidate but loved Joe Schoen just a bit more. They thought John Harbaugh’s guy in Baltimore, Joe Hortiz, was a bit nervous in his interview, but he was going to hire Jim Harbaugh as Giants head coach. What could have been?
Remember, this was after the 2021 season, when Harbaugh was still at Michigan. The Giants, at that point, hired Daboll and Schoen to replace Joe Judge and Dave Gettleman. And now, Daboll and Schoen are failing miserably. They’re 2-12 this season, after going 6-11 last year.
Peters wound up joining Dan Quinn with the Commanders (who are doing quite well) this past offseason. Hortiz also got a GM job this past offseason — with the Chargers, who hired Harbaugh. And like the Commanders (9-5), the Chargers (8-6) have enjoyed plenty of success in 2024.
It’s clear that Harbaugh remains an excellent head coach. Which everyone knew was the case in early 2022, when Mara and Tisch hired Daboll, who had zero head coaching experience.
Would Harbaugh have left Michigan to coach the Giants? That we don’t know. Back then, Daniel Jones had just finished his third season as the Giants’ quarterback. And he hadn’t exactly looked like a star over those three seasons. So maybe Harbaugh would’ve wanted a better quarterback.
He got one with the Chargers this season — Justin Herbert. Meanwhile, the Giants are still stuck in rebuilding mode with Schoen and Daboll, who quite obviously is nowhere near Harbaugh’s level.
Regardless of which coach/GM changes (if any) Mara and Tisch make after 2024, it’s clear they’re now 0 of 6 on coach/GM hires post-Tom Coughlin and Jerry Reese.
Why should any Giants fan trust them to fix this mess?
