UPDATE: Snow, rain falling on messy Monday for travel. More storms ahead.
Parts of northern New Jersey could get up to 2 inches of snow, a wintry mix and coating of ice overnight, setting up a slick Monday morning commute.
Passaic, Warren and Sussex Counties could see 1 to 2 inches of snow by morning, the weather service said in a social media post. All three counties are under winter weather advisories.
There could also be a coating of ice to make the morning commute more challenging for drivers.
The weather service recommends checking 511NJ.org for road conditions in your area.
Lower accumulations of less than an inch are expected in Hunterdon and Morris counties, but it is not likely to last long as rain pushes in through the morning.
Areas south of the I-78 corridor can expect all rain, which will last through the day.
