Residents awoke to snow in at least 13 New Jersey counties Saturday morning after an overnight storm that dropped more than 5 inches in multiple towns.
Sparta in Sussex County reported the highest snowfall total as of 8 a.m. with 5.5 inches, according to preliminary reports from the National Weather Service.
Four other towns in Hunterdon, Morris and Warren counties also recorded at least 5 inches of snow.
A trace of snow was reported as far south as Atlantic and Cumberland counties.
Cold weather is expected for the rest of the weekend and to start next week.
High temperatures Saturday will be in the 20s and low 30s with wind gusts of 15 to 35 mph.
