PHILADELPHIA – The Giants would have been No. 1 in the 2025 NFL Draft had they lost their final two games.
Now they are No. 3 as Sunday’s final day of regular season action winds down, including the Giants’ loss to the Eagles in their regular-season finale at Lincoln Financial Field, where they have not won since 2013.
The Giants (3-14) are one of three teams with three wins, but they lose the Strength of Schedule tiebreaker with the Titans (No. 1) and the Browns (No. 2) in the projected order on Tankathon.com.
And after the Browns (3-14) lost their finale to the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday, the highest the Giants could have risen is No. 2 if they lose to the Eagles with victories by the Patriots (over the Bills) and the Titans (over the Texans).
The Giants were No. 1 and in control of that spot as the only two-win team in the NFL, but they pulled off their first home victory of the season last Sunday with a 45-33 win over the Indianapolis Colts.
In the process, they coughed up the No. 1 overall pick in draft – with one week to go – and will now spend the foreseeable future facing questions regarding whether Sunday’s win at MetLife Stadium was worth it.
What it all means to the regime led by coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen remains to be seen, with owners John Mara and Steve Tisch only knowing the answer to that.
