After another exciting week of the high school hockey season, it’s time to look back on the best performances in Bergen, Passaic, Morris, Sussex and Essex counties.

Dylan Aker, Park Regional
The junior forward scored three goals and had two assists as the Whippany Park/Hanover Park co-op won both of their games. Aker scored twice, including the game-winner in overtime of Tuesday’s 3-2 win over Tenafly/Cresskill/Leonia. On Sunday, Aker added a goal and two assists in a 7-3 win over Stevens/Edison/Metuchen.
Mitchell Brodsky, Northern Valley
The senior forward earned his first five-point game of the season in an 8-2 win over Paramus Catholic on Wednesday. Brodsky assisted on the first two goals as the co-op led 3-1 after one period. Brodsky had a pair of second period goals, including a power play goal, and added a third period goal in an 8-2 win.
George Cote, Delbarton
The senior goalie had two strong games in net that helped propel the Green Wave to the top of statewide rankings. Cote stopped 19 of the 20 shots he faced in a 3-1 win over Don Bosco on Tuesday. Two days later, Cote had 24 key saves and pushed the game to overtime where Delbarton would defeat Christian Brothers, 5-4.
Vincent Crisafulli, Randolph
The junior forward played a vital role in a 3-0 week for the Rams. Crisafulli had a hat trick and three assists in an 11-3 win over Morris Knolls/Morris Hills on Monday. Two days later, Crisafulli had an assist and scored on a shorthanded goal in an 8-0 win over Pingry. Crisafulli also had three assists as Randolph rallied for five goals in the third period in a 6-2 win over Morristown on Saturday.
Michael Ferrante, Fair Lawn/Dumont/Bergenfield
The senior forward earned nine points through two key victories this week. Ferrante had three assists as the Cutters upset Northern Highlands, 5-2, on Monday. On Friday, Ferrante scored four goals and two assists in a 7-1 win over KJS United.
Logan Hughes, St. Joseph (Montvale)
The senior forward helped the Green Knights to an unbeaten week on the ice. Hughes scored during a 4-1 win over Princeton Day on Wednesday. A day later, Hughes had the lone goal in a 1-0 win over Pascack Valley/Pascack Hills/Park Ridge in the Bergen County quarterfinals.
Dominic Locriccio, West Orange
The senior forward scored in all three games for the Mountaineers. Locriccio had a hat trick in a 4-2 win over Bayonne/Belleville/McNair on Wednesday. Two days later, Locriccio had West Orange’s only goal in a 3-1 loss to Hoboken/Weehawken/Secaucus. On Saturday, Locriccio scored twice in a 5-2 victory.
Evan Redman, Morristown Beard
The sophomore forward helped the Crimson remain the only undefeated team left in the MCSSIHL. Redman had a hat trick during a convincing 11-1 win over Morristown on Monday. Redman would add an assist during a 4-0 win over Morris Knolls/Morris Hills on Thursday.
Jack Scali, Ridgewood
The senior goalie stopped 34 of the 35 shots he faced during a 3-1 win over Ramapo in Thursday’s Bergen County tournament quarterfinals. The win advanced the Maroons to the tournament semifinals for the first time since 2012.
Matt Shpungin, Don Bosco
The senior forward came through with goals during a pair of key wins this week. Shpungin had a goal and an assist in a 3-0 win over Bergen Catholic during Thursday’s Bergen County tournament quarterfinals. Shpungin’s power play goal with less than three minutes in regulation was the game winner in a 3-2 win over St. Augustine on Sunday.
Alex Sonvico, High Point/Wallkill Valley/Kittatinny
The senior defenseman had a 10-point week as the tri-op won all three games on their schedule. Sonvico had a hat trick and an assist in a 7-1 win over Newton/Lenape Valley on Tuesday. Sonvico had three assists in regulation on Thursday against Morris Catholic, netting the game-winner in a 6-5 overtime win. On Saturday, Sonvico had a goal and an assist in a 4-1 win over Mountain Lakes/Boonton.
