The Boston Celtics (29-13) and Golden State Warriors (21-20) meet Monday as the NBA celebrates Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Tip-off from Chase Center is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET (TNT/truTV/Max). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Celtics vs. Warriorsodds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.
Season series: Warriors lead 1-0
The Celtics are coming off a 119-115 OT loss as 9.5-point home favorites vs. the Atlanta Hawks Saturday with the Under (238.5) hitting. F Jaylen Brown finished with 24 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists for Boston, which is just 2-5 against the spread (ATS) in its last 7 games.
The Warriors beat the visiting Washington Wizards 122-114 Saturday but failed to cover as 14-point favorites while the Over (231) cashed. G Stephen Curry (26 points) was forced to leave the game with an ankle injury late in the fourth quarter and is questionable for Monday.
In their first meeting this season (Nov. 6), Golden State covered as a 7-point underdog in a 118-112 win at Boston as the Over (228.5) hit. Curry had a team-high 27 points for the Warriors, while Celtics F Jayson Tatum led all scorers with 32.

Celtics at Warriors picks and predictions
Prediction
Celtics 119, Warriors 100
Moneyline
Boston (-500) is 11-1 straight up (SU) after a loss. While most people aren’t comfortable betting big ML favorites, there would be value on playing Boston SU at -390 or better.
At -500, though, PASS. Bet the spread and/or total instead.
Against the spread
The Celtics’ odds of winning this game SU are over 79 percent. The only concern here is whether or not Boston will be motivated enough to run up the score late, instead of pulling its starters for garbage time.
Given the history between these teams — Golden State beat Boston 4-2 in the 2022 NBA Finals — the Celtics will likely take pride in beating the Warriors by margin in a national TV game on MLK Day. Lay the points with the better team.
BET CELTICS -10.5 (-105).
Over/Under
The Celtics are 5-7 O/U after a loss, allowing an average of just 102.2 points per game (PPG). Boston allows 108.6 PPG overall on the season — ranking 6th in the NBA — so it plays considerably better on the defensive end in a bounce-back spot.
The concern for the Under, though, is that the Celtics may run up the score in garbage time to humiliate the Warriors. The safer bet here is to play a derivative of the Under, since Boston will likely be more focused on defense in the first half.
BET WARRIORS 1ST HALF TEAM TOTAL UNDER 54.5 (-105).
