Two of the nation’s top high school wrestling teams will renew their rivalry when No. 9 Blair Academy visits No. 5 Delbarton on Thursday night in Morristown.
It will mark the fifth straight season that the nationally-ranked programs will meet since their first encounter in 2020. Blair has won all four match-ups, including the last two that were decided on the final bout at heavyweight.
The two programs enter the contest with a combined 10 wrestlers ranked nationally by FloWrestling.
Other than the first-ever meeting between the schools on Jan. 11, 2020 in Blairstown in which the Warren County boarding school dominated 56-6, the last three encounters have been decided by just 14 points as Delbarton has clearly closed the gap in recent years.
Last winter, Blair erased a deficit entering the final bout to pull off a 30-25 win at home. And in 2023, the Bucs secured a 26-24 win on the road.
