The College Football Playoff national championship has arrived.
It comes down to No. 7 seed Notre Dame and No. 8 seed Ohio State for who will emerge victorious and win a title in the inaugural run of the 12-team playoff in college football.
The Buckeyes have cruised to the national championship, winning each of their three-playoff games by two or more touchdowns, including a 28-14 win over No. 5 seed Texas Longhorns in the CFP semifinal at the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic.
While the Fighting Irish have had similar results throughout the playoff, they faced their toughest test in a 27-24 victory against No. 6 seed Penn State Nittany Lions in the Capital One Orange Bowl, where place kicker Mitch Jeter converted on a game-winning 41-yard field goal with seven seconds remaining in regulation.
Will it be the Buckeyes or Fighting Irish who come out on top and become national champions?
