The divisional round of the NFL playoffs started with a bang.
It began with the back-to-back Super Bowl champion Chiefs moving on to a seventh consecutive AFC title game appearance with a 23-14 victory over the Texans.
The upset of the playoffs so far came in the night cap, with the No. 6 seed Washington Commanders — a 8.5-point underdog — going on the road and taking down the 15-2 top-seeded Lions in a 45-31 offensive shootout, with the organization advancing to its first NFC championship game in 32 seasons, snapping the longest active drought in the NFL.
First up this afternoon will be the Eagles hosting the Rams, a Week 12 rematch, this time in Philadelphia with snow expected to be in the forecast throughout the game.
The second round wraps up with arguably the most anticipated game of the weekend, with MVP favorites — Bills’ QB Josh Allen and Ravens’ QB Lamar Jackson — squaring off head-to-head in Buffalo with the winner heading to Kansas City next weekend.
Following Sunday’s results, the conference championship will be set in stone with the final four teams battling for a spot in Super Bowl 59 on Feb. 9 in New Orleans.
