Senior guard Juliana O’Dowd knocked down a jumper from just inside the top of the key 42 seconds into the game to reach the 1,000-point milestone for her career, and Montville went on to defeat Pequannock 56-37 in Montville.
O’Dowd, a four-year varsity player, had eight field goals, including a 3, and went 6-for-6 from the foul line to finish with a game-high 23 points. She now has 1,021 in her four seasons with the Mustangs.
Montville (5-6) led by six at the half and broke the game open with a 19-8 run in the third quarter.
Kayla Martinez added 11 points in the win.
Alexandra Guardino hit four 3s, scored 18 points and pulled down seven rebounds for Pequannock (1-10).
