The Powerball jackpot for Monday’s lottery drawing has climbed to an estimated $285 million with a cash option of $124.9 million.
The winning numbers were: 4, 6, 16, 39 and 66. The Powerball drawn was 9 with a Power Play of 2x.
While no one across the country hit Saturday’s $238 million jackpot, a second-prize, $1 million ticket was bought at the ShopRite on Beaverbrook Road in Lincoln Park in Morris County, according to lottery officials.
The lucky ticket matched five numbers but not the Powerball.
There were no $50,000 tickets sold in New Jersey for Saturday’s drawing.
Saturday’s winning Powerball numbers were: 3, 6, 32, 37 and 65. The Powerball drawn was 4 with a Power Play of 3x.
In addition, no one won the secondary, $10 million Double Play drawing. Those winning numbers were: 22, 24, 25, 44 and 53. The Double Play number drawn was 20.
The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are 292,201,388 to 1. A player who buys a $2 ticket has about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers and win at least $1 million, while the odds are 913,129 to 1 to win a third prize of at least $50,000.
Powerball drawings are held each Monday, Wednesday and Saturday in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Tuesday’s Mega Millions jackpot is worth an estimated $95 million with a cash option of $41.6 million.
