LONG VALLEY, NJ — Washington Township Schools will begin registration later this week for the district’s Integrated Preschool Program for the 2025-26 school year.
The spots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Parents will need to submit a nonrefundable deposit of $950.00, which will be applied toward tuition. Once the deposit is received, a link will be provided to complete the registration process.
The requirements to register are listed on the Washington Township Schools website, which is where the registration link will go live, on Friday at 9 a.m., the district said.
Children ages 3 to 5 who reside within the district are eligible to enroll, as long as they turn 3 by Sept. 1, 2025.
The Integrated Preschool Program combines general education students with those who have special needs, fostering valuable peer interactions, skill development, and individualized support. With limited spaces available, families are encouraged to register promptly once the registration period opens.
The program will be offered at all district elementary schools five days a week. At Benedict A. Cucinella Elementary and Flocktown-Kossmann schools, sessions will run from 7:35 a.m. to 2:10 p.m., while at Old Farmers Road School, hours will be from 8:40 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
The daily schedule includes a variety of activities such as circle time, small and large group activities, centers, snack, story time, and teacher-facilitated play. Students will also participate in age-appropriate assemblies and enjoy outdoor play when weather permits.
Learning activities are aligned with the New Jersey Department of Education’s Preschool Teaching and Learning Expectations, with additional emphasis on tailoring activities to meet the individual needs and abilities of each child, the district said.
All classes will be led by a dual-certified teacher in Special Education and P-3 General Education, with a teaching assistant providing additional instructional support.
The Integrated Preschool Program follows the Tools of the Mind curriculum, which offers a developmental sequence of activities designed to support children at their current levels of development.
Tuition for non-classified students will be $950.00 per month. Parents are responsible for transportation, snacks, and lunch for preschool students without special needs.
For any questions or assistance with the registration process, parents are asked to contact Dr. Denise Scairpon, Director of Special Education, at 908-876-9211, ext. 2300.
Parents who register on Friday will be notified by Jan. 28, 2025, regarding their child’s eligibility and acceptance into the program, the district said.
