MORRISTOWN, NJ — The Morris School District is looking to hear from the community about potential facility improvements to its schools.
The district plans to create a bond referendum that would secure “significant” state funding, of which around 40 percent would go to qualifying facility projects.
“Community input is vital as we plan for the future of Morris School District,” a statement read. “Our district is proud to immerse students in an extraordinary combination of benefits across academic curriculum and multicultural classrooms within a diverse community. MSD strives to continue building upon our rich history and raising the bar for educational excellence.”
The district has put together a survey for all members of the school community, including staff, parents, students, alumni, and others.
The survey will gauge what the public values and where to focus funds and energy on improvements.
Additionally, the school is hosting two focus groups, or “Public Input Sessions on School Facilities,” next month. The sessions will be held on Oct. 13 and Oct. 15, both at 7 p.m., and both accessible in-person or via Zoom.
